BuNo 12437 was first delivered to the USAAF as C-47A-30-DL, 42-23758 with C/N 9620. She was later transferred to the USN as the R4D-5, BuNo 12437 and was re-manufactured to an R4D-8. After that she served as the Blue Angels support aircraft between 1953-1955 and was assigned to NAS Corpus Christi, TX then returned to the fleet service and became a C-117D when designations standardized in 1962.

After serving the Navy she was acquired for civilian service and carried at least 3 different civil designations N8538R, N306SF, and N44GH.

The 1984 & 1985 photos show her is service for Skyfreighters Corporation.

Skyfreighters Corporation lost its license in 1992 for failure to file proof of insurance.

This aircraft has been located and is for sale as civil designation N44GH in 2006.
